MATERIALS FOR ELECTRO-OPTICAL DEVICES
Rapid advancement in communications technology requires the development of new materials. Conjugated polymers and low-molecular organic compounds have aroused interest in the last few years as materials for opto-electronical applications.
In the MC I department, we deal with the synthesis and characterization of novel materials and investigate their application in components. The focus in the area of low-molecular compounds is on amorphous materials (molecular glasses.
In the process, we often work in close cooperation with the departments of Physical Chemistry and Experimental Physics at the University of Bayreuth and with domestic and foreign universities and industrial corporations.
